Red Wine Shrimp at Chung Yung circa 1985...?

Chung Yung was on 27th St between 6th and 7th. I used to get something called Red Wine Shrimp there back then that I thought was fantastic at the time--that being about 20 years ago and extremely fuzzy at this point. I've never run into anything else with that name or taste--Large shrimp, puffy batter fried with a sticky-ish red sauce with little seeds...maybe not seeds..something like a seed--thin, maybe a quarter inch long. Anybody with any ideas/memories of this?
