Jury Duty lunch- NOT chinese/vietnamese/thai?

emmers Nov 28, 2006 12:49 AM

Any suggestions for a lighter lunch around the Centre St. courthouses? I like asian food but don't want it every day (I'm going to be there for a while!) I have an hour for lunch and would like to stick to a cheapish budget of no more than $10/day.

Don't forget about malaysian, korean and indonesian food. Chinese food is very diverse, try different ones.

If you walk fast, there are bunch of non asian restaurants further west on church street or in the vicinity of church, papaya dogs, spanish food, pakistani tea house etc... Maybe you should time yourself after hours to see how fast you can get there and back.

hey, i didn't see this in time (after i served on a jury for three weeks!) but thanks for the response- don't know how i missed it! I ended up doing a combo of plain old ny deli salad bar and dumpling/chinese mania (tasty dumpling, excellent dumpling house, wo hop, 69 bayard, etc.).
