Menudo near UCLA

With the cool rainly Monday morning I was thinking a nice big bowl of menudo would be GREAT. Where to go? Maybe I can wait until the weekend, but I'd rather not.

I live in Westwood (and BTW isn't it sort of funny that mexican food is hard to find close to UCLA?? or is just me).

I believe I saw menudo on the menu at Monte Alban (on Santa Monica Blvd.) on the weekends...

The only problem is that neigther serves sparkling wines... menudo, plain sopes, wedge of queso fresco & sparkling wine that is the only way I have it.

The Talpa is mediocre... Juquila is your better option.

I was at Juquila on Saturday and noticed they serve menudo and pozole on Saturdays and Sundays. Might be worth a try.

The place is located on Santa Monica Blvd just east of Barrington.

I'll give both Juquila and The Talpa a try one day soon and report back.

Hey...everyone should at least try menudo (just close your eyes!). If you like mexican food you'll like menudo.

An old UCLA alumni friend, who's been going there since his student days, recommended I try The Talpa. I've eaten at the bar watching T.V. while the person sitting next to me was consuming it. I personally have never eaten Menudo, but his looked very tempting...

i agree. talpa is a good sit down mexican joint. their combos are huge, reasonably priced and tasty! however, i have not tried the menudo there though.
