easy drive from downtown for dinner?

apologies for not reading more on this board before my earlier post...but after browsing, it sounds like there are many dinner options within a relatively short drive from downtown. anyone willing to share their favorites?

pop down to the old bank district and dine at pete's cafe. its low key and their hellman burger and bleu cheese fries are divine! service can be splotchy but friendly.

i'd prefer something with entrees at or below $20 per plate, within a 20 minute drive of downtown, relatively casual, and a place that won't have a wait on a Tuesday evening...

I think you'll want to be more specific, SF. There are dozens of restaurants within _walking_ distance of most downtown locations, including the many in Chinatown and Little Tokyo. What type of cuisine? What price range? Romantic dinner? Pre-theater? Bachelor party? Help us out a little!
