Dim sum in sunset park ?

  • 5

I know there are a lot of posts on Sunset Park's Chinatown, but it is a lot of info to cull through. Any quick recommendations for me? Doesn't actually have to be dim sum, just great food in Sunset Park.

  1. My favorite in said area is Ming Gee, although the name may have changed recently. It is on 6th Ave. and 62nd St.. Found it through this board, and subsequently found World Tong (Then Ocean Port) by recognizing the same winning combination - Italian marble with Chinese signage - while driving by one night. World Tong is on 18th Ave. and 62nd St.. Ming Gee is bigger and therefore better at accomodating larger groups. Both are near the N train. Enjoy!

we had a GREAT experience at ming gee today. definately recommended.

    2. Did Ocean Palace emerge anywhere after their building was torn down? If not, then Diamond on Eight, 6022 Eighth (also near the N train) would be the next choice.

No, it didnt emerge. We liked Ocean Palace, but never found its Dim Sum outstanding. Certainly its better at World Tong and Ming Gee than ever there.

Have you been to Diamond on Eight recently? Its been years since we have been (in the Jade Plaza days) but at that time we were not impressed. It would be good to know it had improved.

Went there once and it was fine to me. Haven't had dim sum at World Tong or Ming Gee so I can't compare. Since the OP has specifically asked about Sunset Park, I'm not saying this would necessarily be a destination spot if you could go anywhere.
