Can anyone recommend any good chinese restaurants in GTA (preferrably Richmond Hill or North York) for a wedding. I would like a dance floor and capacity for 200-300 people. Thanks.

Check out Dragon Dynasty, at Brimley and McNichol in Scarborough:

They do a lot of weddings, both in their own space and at a banquet hall a short drive away. Great food, great service.

I was at a wedding this summer at the Metropolitan Hotel. It was in a ballroom downstairs and there were easily 200 people there with a large dance floor in the middle of the room. Dinner, catered by Lai Wah Heen, consisted of a 10 course Chinese meal - in a word, the food was s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r!! Every course was presented with great fanfare by a fleet of waiters, placed on a lazy susan in the middle of each table and dished out in individual bowls. There were drinks in the area outside the ballroom before dinner and a stunning dessert buffet, complete with ice sculptures, afterwards. I talked about the food for weeks after the wedding (I still get teary eyed when I think about it now). Highly recommended.

I was at a wedding 2 years ago at the Metropolitan. Best wedding food I've had - ever - Chinese or not! Incredible!

Last year my cousin had his banquet at Hilton Suites at Hwy 7 and Warden. I was not expecting much, but the food was quite good and the table service was excellent. Instead of the usual dish in the middle of the table on a lazy susan, one dish was paraded around the room ( for people to look at I guess) and then individual portions were presented to each guest. In a formal setting I rather appreciated not having to serve myself. He even had the ceromony in the hotel, which menat no running around between venues.

Not sure what your budget is... La Rosa at 407 and Woodbine is pretty good on a fair budget. Have been there for a few weddings, the food is decent, the wine free flowing, and the staff friendly.

Just saw this thread now, so this might be too late. Also check out Grand Yatt in Richmond Hill. I had my wedding banquet reception there a few years ago there and the food & service were excellent, and experienced with weddings. I heard the ownership might have changed a few years ago so I'm not sure what the current thought is.

              I also second Dragon Dynasty.
