Visiting and looking for suggestions

Hi, visiting Chicago for the first time with a friend and looking for foodie locations that I have to visit. I am celiac so am restricted to gluten free options. Hope to make the most of my few days with some new chow experiences!

btw, saw something about Garrett's Popcorn on TV. Anyone know if their caramel popcorn is gluten free?

    1. Chicago, of course, is one of the very best foodie cities in the country (THE best, IMHO). There are terrific restaurants in every category and price range, throughout the city and suburbs.

      One place to start, to look up articles and get a feel for what's out there, is the Chicago Tribune's website for local entertainment called "Metromix", which has all their restaurant reviews as well as complete listings that are searchable. The web address is

      I would think that the nicer places would be able to tell you what is, and isn't, gluten free in their offerings.
