Happy Thanksgiving

To all on the board. I moved to Miami a year ago and am thankful for the help that I've received from the board! Thanksgiving ismy favorite holiday. Tomorrows menu is:

17.5 Pound Free Range Turkey, Brined overnight and roasted
Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Giblet Gravy
Candied Yams
Cranberry Relish w/ mandarin orange, peppered honey walnuts and grand marnier
Italian Suasage and Mushroom stuffing
Squash Soup w/ congac
Roasted Brussel Sprouts
Dinner Salad
Misc. Pies including Pumpkin and Peacan

What's everyone having for dinner?

    Apples and Emmentaler cheese
    with escondido chardonnay

    Butternut Squash and apple soup
    with kuentz bas alsace white

    Greens with maple candied pecans, blue cheese and apple cider vinaigrette

    21 lb. Free Range Turkey, roasted with sage and lots of butter
    my grandmother's dressing
    Bourbon Gravy
    Spinach and artichoke heart casserole
    Roasted brussels sprouts with bacon and garlic
    cranberry relish with black pepper and parsley
    yeast rolls
    with tres picos beaujolaisis

    Pumpkin creme brulee
    Chocolate espresso roll

      AdvisorBoy's parents are driving South with their nasty little Lhasa that bites (his Mom is the Everyone Loves Raymond Mom times ten so let's all bow heads for just a sec and pray for me... amen).

      tiny crabmeat empanadas (currently rolling)
      cocktail shrimp and stone crab claws
      24 of mother in law to be's Underwood deviled eggs in clouds of paprika
      frenched mini Australian lamb chops w/ mojito mint dipping sauce
      vidalia onion pancetta tarts "a la Bob Mervine"
      lots and lots of booze

      11.6 lb mojo brined bacon wrapped fresh turkey
      whole clove roasted garlic mashed potatoes with boursin cheese
      Patty Labelle's truffled mac n cheese (ate some last night and died of sheer bliss)
      mother in law t-b's canned yam, pineapple and mini marshmellow casserole
      andouille, granny apple, craisin cornbread stuffing
      trio of cranberry sauces (can slices, deluxe fresh, and high octane fusion)
      french green beans
      pan gravy
      lots and lots of wine

      pastry leaf garnished brown sugar pumpkin pie (my good)
      crisp pecan tart (a little too crisp I fear - my bad)
      home churned pumpkin pie ice cream over still warm gingerbread
      mother in law t-b's chocolate cream cheese "good housekeeping magazine" no-bake pie
      champagne (and sanka)

      (2 aspirin, lots of water) collapse

        I'm honored -- and in some damn fine company.

        This is my daughter's first Thanksgiving actually cooking the whole kit and caboodle, so other than the Vidalia pies -- I used Inca Sweets and baked without a top crust this time -- and the smoked turkey legs with Dr Pepper barbecue sauce for the grandkids, all I'm bringing is the wine and my appetite.


      2. Saltwater bath in the shimmering south beach sea.

        Drinks, more drinks, maybe a couple more for good measure...followed by football.

        Turkey with all the trimmings and wine lots of wine.

        Viva la chowhound!!!
