cookie with alcohol

Need a cookie recipe for a "cookie exchange" whose theme this year is "alcohol". It can't be a rum ball (as the hostess has proclaimed this and bars to not be cookies). Desperate for a great recipe.

  1. Rum balls are cookies..have her call me. Find a cookie recipe that dips in chocolate and flavor the chocolate with orange liquor or rum.

    1. How about kourembiethes?

There are a few greek cookies that use whiskey or other alcohol. I have other ones I can post, if you're interested.

      1. Go to a website full of cocktail/punch recipes, or get a bartender's guide book. Many fruits and nuts are made into liqueurs, there are plenty of chocolate and/or creamy drinks--a fun theme for cookies! Limitless.

        1. chowser has a great idea. those kour..... are very addictive.
SOOOO melt in your mouth. there's a greek bakery on W.Broadway in Vancouver that makes the best ones i've had.

          1. How about a rich oatmeal cookie with a rum glaze? I don't have a recipe, but probably any oatmeal cookie would do. Then just mix rum and powdered sugar to make a thin glaze, and drizzle over the cookies.

My newest cookbook purchase, The Spirited Vegetarian ("Over 100 Recipes Made Lively with Wine and Spirits") has a recipe for triple-chocolate brownies with cassis - but brownies are a bar cookie, aren't they?
