Help - Thanksgiving in Austin

We are driving across country and will find ourselves in Austin on Turkey Day.

Where, if any, will we be able to get a Turkey dinner?

Thanks for your help and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Since we were in the car for 4 days to get here we are leaning towards staying as close to Austin as possible. We will look into Hoovers, the Four Seasons and check out the newspaper blog as well.

    Again thanks and Happy Thanksgiving.

Hoover's home cooking does a really great traditional thanksgiving meal, and it's not overly expensive, just good southern style food.

If you're like us and don't want to spend $40 and up per head, try Jamin House, in Marble Falls. It's about 45 miles west of Austin. We''ve had Thanksgiving there the last couple of years, and I think we're paying $13-15 plate, not including drinks.

It's a Caribbean style place, great jerk pork and chicken, but they do tons of seafood and are a great little place. Probably need reservations and they're closed on Wednesday.

I went to Threadgills on Riverside last year. Decent food.

The local newspaper columnist has a blog post with some options. Some seemingly bad choices on there but you might find something to your liking: http://www.austin360.com/blogs/conten...

The Four Seasons in Austin does an amazing Thanksgiving! Call them to see if you can still get reservations.
