Sarasota Area Thanksgiving Dining Options; Key West options?

Good morning all. First time poster here after participating on egullet for quite some time, I thought I'd diversify and see what this board was all about. I really like the interface and the posts are very solid. Hope to share my favorites for Florida and upstate NY as I've spent a great deal in time in both and now find myself in the latter. I also blog a great deal (www.dininginalbany.blogspot.com).
Anyhow, the reason for this post is to inquire about recommended dining options in / around Sarasota on Thanksgiving day (i.e., whats open and decent) where I'll be this Thursday. Thereafter I am driving to Key West for the balance of the holiday weekend and would love to get fellow 'hounds recommendations.
Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the board! I would love to help but I need more info. What type of food are you looking for in the Keys? Budget? With Family (kids)? There has also been a lot of information about dining in Key West recently so do a search to get an idea of what is out there. You might even find some good answers.
Hi Suzie - that was a quick reply; Thanks. There's only of us (ages 26/31) and budget can range anywhere from divey to fine dining. Not a concern as I'm really looking for unique dining experiences in Key West for my first trip there. I'll check out the KW board as you suggested. Also, any place worth stopping at on the long drive down is also available to suggestion. Thanks
On your drive through the Keys, definitely stop for dinner at Marker 88 in Isla Morada. Uber-fresh fish prepared with eye-popping, innvoative flavors. Don't be turned off by the 70s-era decor; the food is amazing.
