Porcini's in Watertown: Thumbs WAY down.
The long and the short of it: If you think there's something wrong with using cream cheese to make tiramisu, then stay the heck away from this overpriced pseudo-Italian restaurant. The dish tasted sour, so we asked what was in it, and we were told that it was a blend of cream cheese and mascarpone. (Not only is that absolutely not how tiramisu is made, it's a blatant cost-shaving measure. If you can't be bothered to make tiramisu with all mascarpone, what other corners are you cutting?) And when I pointed out that that wasn't right, we got ... nothing. They didn't take it off the bill. The meal wasn't anything special, either. We won't be going back.
