New Year Eve Dinner in Carmel

We're heading down to Carmel Valley for New Year's Eve weekend and I wanted recommendations on where we should eat on New Year's Eve itself. We can't afford anything *too* expensive (maybe $100 for the two of us?) and something festive would be nice. I searched the board and Bouchee seems recommended. What do you all think?

If you have a car I would recommend Robert's White House In Pacific Grove. It is in a nice old building and the restaurant is delivering great cuisine (French style) including best service I had in the area. Passionfish in PG is another option with good meals, though both time I ate there I was very disappointed by the dessert and coffee and also the service was just ok.

I am reasonably sure that you won't be able to get out of Bouchee in your price range, especially if you want wine. Indeed, I am not sure you will be able to do Robert's in your budget if they have a special menu. (and I think their regular prices have gone up recently?) You should check to be sure because a lot of places have (more expensive) set menus on New Year's eve.

I've eaten at Passionfish on NYE at least three times, and it has been great everytime. With their very reasonable wine prices you could definitely get out of there on your budget. Personally I think the desserts are great, especially the bread pudding and anything with berries...also, if they have fried calamari on the menu, don't miss it!

Hi- thanks for the suggestions so far. Just found out we'll actually be staying in Carmel Valley. Don't mind the drive to Carmel or PG for dinner but if there's anything good in Carmel Valley, please share!
