Indian Buffet - 51st & 6th Ave

Taking my family during my lunch break. I've had Bay Leaf around here, guess I'm curious to see if there's much better out there that I don't know about.

Any suggestions?

Of course, Minar, the dive across the street from Utsav is the best of all! I guess you don't want to take your family there though.

Shaan is gone. I think they were the best in the area, but they had a smaller selection than the other 2 and charged a dessert supplement. I too am a Minar fan. I think it's some of the best Indian food in the city, especially considering the price.

I think Bombay Palace is pretty mediocre. In fact, not much better than 6th Street joints.

Bombay Palace is serviceable. Though Utsav stands out amongst the three. Haven't heard anything about Shaan for a while (48th and 6th) and they used to do a good buffet. Is Shaan no longer amongst the living?

Utsav on 47th between 6th & 7th is probably of equal quality to Bay Leaf, and some here think it's better.
