Jackson Hole Burgers

Is it just me, or does the meat here taste... different? Not spicy, not herby, but different-meat-y.

Eloquent, I'm not. If you know what I mean, or know why, please reply.

Sorry to be so vague YH, I would say different good or just different. Meatier? more barnyardy? As if there is a touch of offal in the mix? Old, but in a good way? I can't put my finger on it, but I do like it.

Thank you for introducing 'offal' into my vocabulary.

Friends of mine are obsessed with the place but I find their burgers to be mediocre. Big does not equal good.

The smell coming out of Jackson Hole is redolent of 1950s garbage dumps. I've never ventured farther than the front door, but I can only imagine what the burgers actually taste like!

The burgers at Jackson Hole are grilled with covers over them, producing a steaming effect that results in loose burger. They also have a grey appearance. It doesn't sound appetizing, but I've always found the burgers very good. I've never noticed any off flavors.

This is one of the most vague posts I've ever seen. Are you (jokingly?) hinting at a cannibalistic conspiracy?

If not, you should probably be more specific--different bad or different good?
