Christmas Day Dining Recommendations

I live in NYC and dine out on Christmas Day. However, finding a decent selection of restaurants is always difficult. Does anyone know of some good restaurants that will be open? Unfortunately, Asian cuisine is not an option. Thanks!

  1. I would expect to list restaurants that will be open on Christmas Day. They don't seem to have posted a specific list, but if you check on availability, you'll probably find the same 43 restaurants available that I found, with 388 restaurants with no availability. You've got slim pickings, but look through the list and see what you like. LCB Brasserie and Sea Grill are among the restaurants that will be open that have received some degree of "good press" here or/and on eGullet.

    1. Cibo, on the corner of 2nd Av. & 41st St., is always open on Christmas Day. Very good food and nice ambiance. They've posted the Christmas menu on their website.

Pan is correct that OpenTable will post a list of restaurants that will be open that day along with details of what they will offer. Look for it sometime after Thanksgiving.

Thanks! I have checked Open Table, but I suppose I should wait a bit as many aren't available yet.

I went to Cibo with my family for Christmas Eve last year. We were a large group, about 15 people. They were able to accomodate us easily. The menu was very nice and good for the mix of adventurous and not-adventurous eaters that we had with us.

Overall the dinner was very good, nothing absolutely spectacular, but nothing was dissappointing either.

        2. Town at the Chambers Hotel. Fantastic Christmas dining (prix-fixe 65 bucks. Great Food Beautiful room.
