Okay, so it wasn't exactly a "foodie" cooking show, but does anyone know where there might be an archive of recipes from this old Blue Ridge Public Television Classic? These guys were a hoot and some of the recipes, while very basic, were pretty tasty.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers this show fondly! They were hilarious--especially when they dressed as the Cook sisters! Definitely not "foodie" by any stretch of the imganiation, but definitely more fun to watch than some of the stuff on Food Network. And yeah, every now and then they'd have some recipies that were pretty gosh-durn good.
Awhile back, when feeling nostalgic, I tried doing a search to find out if they did have some kind of archive, but no such luck. However, I did find this academic paper about the show that was interesting:
Apparently Laban Johnson passed away a few years back, but Larry Bly is still doing stuff and I think even has some reincarnation of the old show.
I had forgotten about this show! I absolutely loved watching it, mostly because it made me giggle.
Didn't they have a kitchen witch that would fly down off a string in the ceiling too?
Their stuff is archived, but you have to do a little digging to find some content:
