Source for pink curing salt in KC area?

Help, I can't find it in this city.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about curing salt that has sodium nitrite, and is sold under brand names including INsta Cure and DC Curing Salt. I can find it online, but most of the cost would be shipping, which is kind of ridiculous.

Thanks.

Have you checked the Planters Seed & Spice Company store in City Market?

I don't know for sure, but they had a wide range of canning supplies and spices. Cool place, and I wouldn't have guessed just by passing by.

There was an article in the KC Star, I think in the week before Thanksgiving, about a company that smokes birds and hams for the holidays. I think they were in MO, rather than KS, but I can't remember their name. You could likely find it doing a search at the KC Star site, or by calling their food editor. I bet that company would either sell you some curing salt, or tell you where to get it. If I recall correctly, curing salt was mentioned in the article specifically.

I'm replying to myself--Fritz's was the name of the place in that article. Don't know, but they might help you out.
