Japanese in eastern monmouth county

Seems there is a Japanese restaurant at every corner. Can anyone recommend one?

  1. I used to go to Sono on 35 in Middletown but my new favorite place for sushi is Kyoto, near Atlantic Highlands in the Navesink strip mall with the post office and CVS.

    1. Pier Village in Long Branch has a nice Japanese place. I can't remember the name but it is right on the main road where all the shops are.

        1. Us too's on Kyoto in Atlantic Highlands. As we just moved to NJ (Highlands) and my wife being Asian - finding good Japanese food was a priority. Sushi should be a signature item (and measure) for a good Japanese restaurant - like naan bread for an Indian restaurant. Kyoto has good sushi, reasonable prices, and a friendly staff.

Now where can I find that good naan bread ???

          1. I have to say SONO sushi on Rt. 35 in Middletown is wonderful! everytime I am in town, it is a must to stop at Sono. Fresh & fantastic sushi- great specialty rolls and its a clean place. Everything one looks for in a sushi rest.
