i've been assigned to salad for thanksgiving.
need to make salad for 25 people. what is an average # of ounces per person for a side salad? I really have no idea how much to make.

you could halve these recipes for 50
if it's raw, about 1 cup per person, if cooked, about 1/2 cup. it's an appetizer or a side dish, not a main course option, right?
I would safely say that a little under 3lbs should feed 25 people with enough for second servings.
I don't measure by weight, as a side, or between I figure about a handful per person and that is plenty unless it is a main.
