Bell and Evans Turkeys in Boston area

C. Hamster Nov 18, 2006 06:15 PM

Anyone know if Bell and Evans turkeys are available in the Boston metro area?

I know lots of places that sell B and E chicken but none sell turkeys...

I know Stop & Shop has them. Maybe Whole Foods?

Whole FOods largely sells its own brand now and Plainville, though it may vary by store.

I saw fresh Bell and Evans turkeys at Stop&Shop in Somerville on McGrath Highway. They were selling for $1.99 a pound.

I saw B&E turkeys at my local Market Basket. I would imagine the whole chain has them.

THere's a tiny , well-stocked grocer in Brookline on Cypress called Kurkman's. They have Bell & Evan's chicken and I'm pretty sure bring in the turkeys around this time of year. You could call them.

              Thanks everyone.

About a hour after I asked this question, I found them at the Stop and Shop in N. Quincy. They have not had them before, as I recall.

But they only had one and it looked a bit skanky. SO I ordered 2 for sunday pick up.

Of course they weren't there when I went yesterday. So they are supposed to be in on Tues. am.

If they screw up again I'll be off to Shaw's or to another SS -- or to Kurkmans ( i know exactly where that is too!)

              THANKS for all your help.
