Beans again

What ever happened to the bean string that was started a few days ago? I did a bean search on the home cooking site and got 2100 hits so that wasn't much help.

The question was: Which beans to use for what?

I tried to keep an eye on it but it just went away.

I went shopping yesterday and wrote this down. Beans for about $2.90 a pound dry. Red Lentels, Lupin, Fava, Cranberry, Canellini, Flagolets, Green Lentels and Turtle Beans.

Beans for about $1.09 a pound dry. Black, Pink, Great Notrhern, Pinto, Small White and Red Kidney.

All were packaged in two pound bags. This leads me to believe that a comprehensive tasting would be pretty expensive. Not to talk about how many little pots it would take!

What does a fella do?

p.s. This wasn't all the beans they had by far. Mucho mas...

    1. My local health food store sells all the beans you mentioned and more in the bulk bins, so you can buy as much or as little as you want. Doesn't solve your pots on the stove problem, though.
