Best tossed salad lunch bargain near Flatiron?

nychowgirl Nov 17, 2006 08:15 PM

There are a million places around my office that let you pick your desired type of greens, toppings, and dressing and they'll toss the salad for you. This is a lunch favorite of mine and I'm trying to find the best place based on the following criteria: 1) Variety of ingredient choices; 2) Freshness/quality of ingredients; 3) Maximum # toppings allowed; and 4) Price!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions...

if price is the least of your concerns, then i'd recommend cafe medina or chop't (both on 17th btw 5th & bway).

Cafe Medina looks good. I'll have to give that a try. Checked MenuPages and it looks like Chop't gets pretty pricey as soon as you start adding protein or cheese...

      Chop't is number 1!

The best blend of quality and price I've found is Ashby's on Park Ave. Btw 24th and 25th. Good quality saladas and a bonus: the best soups in the neighborhood.
