Key West - where to find

I'm looking for suggestions of a good bread and pastry bakery.
Any good reasonably priced french or italian? Is there good japanese in key west?

  1. Coles Peace for great bread. For reasonable Italian, Mangia Mangia or even Antonia's (its a little more but worth it). The closest thing to reasonable French in KW is The Banana Cafe but they are not open for dinner. The best Japanese/sushi is Ambrosia.

In Key West since 1984, Croissants de France has evolved into one of the best regarded in the Keys... (their brioche is good too!)
816 Duval St, at Petronia 305-294-2624

Japanese - Origami Some like Mangia for inexpensive Italian (meh)
..super fresh seafood - Rusty Anchor (Stock Island), also good Mexi there at Chico's Cantina

The best of the rest? Blue Heaven for lobster eggs benny, Pepes on Caroline or El Siboney for inexpensive Cuban style chow, Santiago's Bodega is a real find on Petronia for tapas and sangria, the Rooftop (live music a plus), BO fish wagon for cheapy fish sammies, Harpoon Harry's for breakfast with the locals...

        Have Fun!

I agree totally on Croissants de France, I had a heavenly Continental breakfast there. (The real kind. . .)

        2. If you only go one place for sushi it should be Ambrosia.

I sooo agree! It is by far the best. Masa is an amazing sushi chef.
