Lunch Friday 12/15/06 and 12/16/06 in Manhattan

I want to know what recommendations I can get for either mid town or up town Manhattan for Lunch Friday 12/15/06 and Sat 12/16/06 and I would like either upscale Asian, Chinese, or Indian food but with elegant atmosphere.

    I agree with RGR on Devi. I think Asiate is very elegant as well for general Asian. Many of the better sushi places are quite upscale in feel as well (there are lots of posts about these on CH). Chinese is tricky - I think Shun Lee Palace is over-rated. I personally like Our Place (on the same block as Shun Lee).

      Devi serves superb Indian cuisine in a space with unusual, elegant decor. Open for lunch Mon.-Sat., they offer a 3-course prix-fixe for $24.07.

        Shun Lee Palace - 55th St btwn 3rd and Lex

        Mr. K's - 51st St and Lex

        Chin Chin - 49th St btwn 2nd and 3rd
