Cinnamon in Highland Park

My husband brought home takeout from Cinnamon tonight--vegetarian Mexican fare, for us: burritos & quesadillas. We thought the food was fresh tasting and worth keeping in the neighborhood.

My husband asked me to post so that others might help keep this place alive:

  1. I'm going to give it another try but it sure was boring the first time around. Quite pricey for tastless food, the only novelty being that it is meat-free. I'm a veggie from nearby Lincoln Heights so I hope it has improved but many of my friends report the same disappointment. I'll check it out again soon...EL CHAVO!

Well, we tried it again, and while I am not a fan of the chile & cheese tamale, I still think the bean & cheese burrito is pretty good for being lardless. I prefer the burrito at Chico's, but I'm one of those wimpy types who gets put off by health ratings below an A, so when Chico's got a B we tried Cinnamon. I don't have much interest in trying the soy or fake meat things. My husband liked the mushroom and cheese quesadilla. My son doesn't care for the lardless beans in the burrito, but I'll still defend them as a vegetarian option, and hope they can improve & succeed.
