Dinner before Blue Man Group?
Hi all!
Any suggestions for a great dinner somewhere downtown in the general area around either Suites at One King West or the Panasonic? We haven't spent much time downtown and aren't really familiar with the area. Probably will be looking for a good steak or seafood or italian at a reasonable price point (nothing too extravagant).
Thanks so much for any advice!

I'd suggest you go north from the hotel and eat somewhere between the hotel and the Panasonic which are 20 minutes by foot away from each other.
Within 3 minutes by foot of the Panasonic:
- Scaccia (downstairs in Manulife Centre) for italianwithin 10 minutes by foot of the Panasonic
- Carmen's, best steak in the city (Alexander St, 500m east of Yonge, first light south of Wellesley)And I third Terroni

Along your way to the theatre you could try
Seafood - Starfish
http://www.starfishoysterbed.com/Steak - Barberian's
http://www.barberians.com/home.phpItalian - Terroni (The decor is somewhat lacking for a couple sans kids having a night out.) You could try Mammina's for romance & pasta. The food isn't as good as Terroni, but hey you get a fireplace in a quiet, intimate room.

I'll second the Beer Bistro..I am totally addicted to the Steak Tartare, Bistro Salad and the Belgian Frites.

Great moderately priced Italian not far from One King West is Terroni, at Victoria and Richmond. Best pizza in town, killer calamari salad, etc. http://www.terroni.ca
Steak/seafood? Lots of people on other boards will tell you to go to Baton Rouge in the Eaton Centre, but not the foodies on Chowhound. It's a mediocre chain.
Around Yonge and Bloor, I'm partial to Volo, at the corner of Dundonald, three blocks south of the Panasonic Theatre: http://www.barvolo.com/
