I'm 37 weeks pregnant and can totally relate. I just had a delicious red velvet cupcake at Sweet Tooth on the Danforth. Moist cake with creamy, buttery frosting.

re: Full tummy
I had a mini red velvet cake from Sweet Bliss on Feb. 10th, and the only thing I enjoyed was the icing. The actual cake was forgettable. I suspect I need to try a truly great red velvet cake because at this point, I don't understand its appeal. At Sweet Bliss, the cakes are kept open in a fridge (but mini-cakes are cello-wrapped).

Try the following:
Eini Cupcakes (fantastico! see if they'll make custom red velvet flavour) - www.eini.ca
Marmalade Cake Company - www.marmaladecakecompany.com - they may also custom make red velvet.
Or, go to Magnolia Bakery in New York - huge slices of red velvet cake!

I just had the red velvet cupcake from kubo on Monday and it was fantastic. I've had many red velevet cakes/supcakes before that are dry (I read somewhere that all the food colouring dries them out) but this was moist and delicious. However they did tell us they'd just arrived fresh that morning. So you obviously have to get them within a day or 2 of baking.
