Crab at the Ferry Building
Just had lunch at the seafood bar. Ordered the half crab in the shell for about $15. It comes with a basic salad of mixed greens and a grape tomato tossed in a light vinagrette. Rolls are available but I had to ask for those. The crab was amazing. Now that the first fresh Dungeness are in, I highly recommend it. The meat was sweet and juicy, I barely touched the butter and cocktail (which is very good too) sauce because there was so much flavor in the crab. Picking the meat out of the shell is a bit of work, but well worth the effort.

They also sell the crabs cooked in the shell for about $8 a pound. And lump crab meat for $22 a pound. I think you can get better prices elsewhere, but the freshness, taste and atmoshphere will be hard to beat.
