anyone try Uhuru Pies, Oakland?

I just found out about this, anyone tried any of their pies? It's been around since 1981.

"Since 1981, the Uhuru Holiday Pie Campaign has been a holiday tradition in the San Francisco Bay Area allowing support from a broad sector of our communities for economic development and social justice for African people.

Join us in Oakland, California between November 12th and December 24th to bake, sell or buy these delicious pies, with flavors including apple crumb, blackberry, chocolate pecan, traditional pecan, pumpkin and sweet potato. Pies are available from November 18th to November 22nd before Thanksgiving and from December 22nd to 24th before Christmas.

Uhuru Holiday Pies are delicious, home-baked and make great gifts. Buy one or more for everyone on your list this year! The perfect "something extra" to take to family gatherings, potlucks or holiday parties you plan to attend.

    Their pies taste horrible...yuck!

      They try and sell their expensive nasty Pies to the unsuspected on the sidewalk(actually the gutter because they were kicked to the curb...literally) in front of Safeway on Grand Ave in Oakland.
