Company Christmas Dinner - Durham

I'm looking for a restaurant for approx 10 people for a company Christmas dinner around Durham. I live in Raleigh and do not know very much about Durham restaurants. Last year we went to Parizade (sp?), so something with that quality/price would be acceptable. I've heard of Magnolia's, but that may be a bit pricey.

I've heard there is an outstanding 5-star restaurant near Cary that features Boston Butt and BBQ Ribs that is prepared on a Big Green Egg grill using Steve Reichler's recipe. They had a bumper crop of home-grown tomatoes that they will prepare at your table.

The price is definitely right with the only downfall being that you have to have clean the restaurant before the meal is served.

I met a friend back at Rue Cler this week and it was great. I got the lamb and the onion soup.

I went to Four square about 10 days ago, it was good, but it was a little stuffy.

try rue cler. new restaurant in downtown durham--they do a $25 prix fixe that is really well executed. there are several recent posts on this from a few days ago, including from yours truly. Magnolia Grill is pretty expensive, but certainly is the best restaurant in the area. other choices within the price range you seem to be talking about include Pop's (they also have private rooms for parties) and Chamas Churrascuria (brazilian steakhouse in Brightleaf Square). If you feel like venturing almost to Chapel Hill, Jujube is right off of 54 heading out of Durham toward Chapel Hill. (that would actually probably be my first choice, but again, it's not really Durham...)

Unless you are very familiar with everyone's dietary restrictions/preferences, Pop's is a better choice than Rue Cler or Chamas--it's a little more vegetarian-friendly.

You might want to try Starlu - it's in the same price range as Parizade.
