We are looking for a European Style grocery store and/or bakery in the South Bay (Campbell, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara). I know Milk Pail in Mountain View is great and Trader Joe's has alot of different items. Anything else out there that I should know about?

There is a good Italian one in Willow Glen on Lincoln. They have homemade pastas and sauces plus lots of other items for sale and a deli. I can't remember the name, but if you go to Lincoln Street, it's across the road from the Pizza My Heart.

Also, there is a Spanish market in Menlo Park across the street from the Cal Train station. It's attached to the restaurant Iberia (which is worth visiting for tapas in the bar). The market sells imported Spanish items, spices, wines and kitchen equipment. Want a paella pan for 2 or 20, this is the place.

        For a European style bakery:
Flour Flower in Willow Glen...well, it's not totally euro but has some very good creamy dense desserts.
Riga's in San Jose on the Alameda. They even have "old world" counter service. :) The owner and his two parents _all_ help with your selection and ring you up. I think they're from Latvia or Lithowania (sp)?
I've heard great things about Cocola in Los Gatos...but I don't eat chocolate and it's a bit of my way. It's come up on chowhound several times, you should be able to find a search.
