Asai (Brazilian fruit)

I just returned from Brazil where I fell in love with Asai, an Amazonian fruit from which Brazilians make a smoothie-like concoction that is often mixed with bananas and topped with granola. It was ubiquitous in Brazil, but a Google search yields few results and no hint as to where it can be found in this country. I am in the throws of asai withdrawl right now; if anyone can recommend where to buy it in NYC, I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks in advance.

An explanation of why it's not readily available around these parts:

It's spelled Açaí- that might be impeding your search.

While I've never seen it raw, many places offer its juice. Of the top of my head, the juice bar on the corner of Houston and 1st Ave has it, and maybe even Jamba Juice does too. I think they might make it from frozen fruit. I've also seen the frozen version in latino grocery stores in Queens.
