Oscar's - Dublin, Ohio

On a quick visit to Cols. from NYC we were taken to Oscar's, overlooking the Scioto, in Old Dublin for dinner - I was very pleased with my meal - my walleye, sauteed and served with a crab sauce was delicious, as were the accompanying vegetables, (sauteed brok and carrots, a parsnip and potato gratin) My husband's rib-eye, lightly crusted with spices including coriander seed, was also very good, and cooked precisely as ordered (rare), a rarity. Salads were well done - we had dessert at home so can't report. Good winelist, seemed pricy to me but Im not familiar with Cols. wine prices. Mostly $35-40 and up.
I have had their Sunday brunch, and it is pretty good. I'm glad to hear the dinner menu is good, too. I've been wanting to try it. Near there, I really like Trattoria La Tavola on Riverside Drive south of Dublin. It's the old La Tavola in Powell in a different, pretty location with a view of the river. They have really good imaginative Italian food with great wine (and food) prices. The place looks swanky, but I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't raise the prices when they moved.
