Long Island--site specific

I'm annoyed at trying to tease out the Long Island Delis that will serve non-Boars Head Pastrami and Corned Beef. Am I the only one who thinks that Long Island deserves its own board for chowhounding? I want to know where the heck on the Island I can find a good pastrami or corned beef that is home-made with a delicious and different rub or roast.

Doesn't anyone else agree?

Welcome to Chowhound, hnjkwa. Please feel free to post your query on the Tristate board and I'm sure you will get some up-to-date suggestions.

Been a long time poster/reader and I have to emphatically agree. While the new layout is easier on the eyes, sifting through New jersey, upstate, CT, western NY is a bit of a headache.
What would also be wonderful, althogh, would be subcategories, ie, Italian, steak, chinese, etc. You'd think now that cnet owns this thing, there would be the funds to do something like that, such as a vDeck board has.

While it is a pain to go though New Jersey, Upstate, etc. posts to find the Long Island topics, if you look at the Tri-State board, there are actually only a few posts daily covering each of the areas, so it probably isn't necesary as separate board.

Who are those posts by? People that drive on 95 from NJ to CT?

In the past week, there have only been 7 topics with posts discussing anything on Long Island, similar to other periods of time. If there is so much interest, where are the posts? I live in the Hudson Valley and would also like to see a separate board for my area, but unlike that famous New Yorker magazine Saul Steinberg cartoon of the map of the USA, I understand that my local area is not the center of the universe, especially culinary-wise, similar to Long Island. I have family on LI and also travel within NYS and am able to quickly scan the posts for those that interest me. And I am sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by posts from people who drive on I 95?
