Hong Kong Cafe vs. Hong Kong Restaurant

gourmeto Nov 14, 2006 07:39 PM

Someone posted that the food at Hong Kong Cafe in Sacramento, CA was good. Well, I'm here to tell you the food is not fit for an addition to a bag of Purina Dog Chow! There are two restaurants here in Sacto town called Hong Kong, I ate at the Cafe one on Broadway and not the Restaurant on Stockton Blvd., so I've no idea about the Hong Kong Restaurant.

The items we ordered were the ones suggested on a previous posting. The Chicken Chow Fun, Egg Foo Yung, and Peanut Duck. If you like mystery meat then you'll love the greasy Chow Fun. The Egg Foo Yung was served in a gelatinous tasteless goo and the Peanut Duck was as greasy and gamie as some duck found dead in a drainage ditch. Hope I'm giving everyone a good idea of what the Chinese Food was like at this greasy spoon. Felt as if I should go to the nearest Urgent Care Clinic for a stomach pumping. Bad doesn't even begin to describe what I tried to eat. You'll never have to worry about taking any little white boxes home from this PIT STOP!!!

I thought it was the New Hong Kong on Freeport Blvd. (5019) that was supposed to be the good one.

Yeah, I avoid the Hong Kong Cafe too. Hasn't been any good for years if then.

I don't know who posted anything about Hong Kong Cafe on Broadway. The one on Freeport is New Hong Kong Wok. You may have mistakenly confused the two.
