Romantic, with flowers?

mueleta Nov 14, 2006 04:04 PM

Does anyone know of a romantic place in/near Boston where they might be able to have flowers waiting at a table upon request? I'm hoping that maybe someone has done this before with good results...

I bet a number of restaurants would do this, so perhaps you might want to narrow it down to a handful of places and call them to see if any would indeed do this.

Any particular cuisine you're looking for? Five North Square (Italian) in the North End is always a good bet. Lala Rokh (Persian) in Beacon Hill is another.

I was thinking some romantic Italian would be nice...

Why not call Winston's and ask them to deliver the flowers to the restaurant, just check with the restaurant to coordinate with them and get the ok!

Interestingly enough, I just noticed that OpenTable has a deal where you can get flowers delivered to the restaurant you reserved.

I can't seem to find this deal...Is it a special offer for the restaurant that you were looking at or is it a deal from Open Table that can be applied to all restaurants?

I would try contacting Melissa, at Grotto. She might be able to arrange it for you, plus it's amazing food and a really romantic atmosphere. Cozy, warm, great wine...

We went to the Grotto and it was fantastic!

Thank you so much for the recommendation. It was perfect and a great first experience with Chowhound!

Just make sure they give you a large enough table - a standard two might not be able to handle the flowers, wine, entrees, etc. and it would be a shame to have to move the flowers...
