Lucques tomorrow night - are short ribs the way to go?

norton44 Nov 14, 2006 03:46 AM

My friend and I are going to Lucques for dinner tomorrow. I've read enough reviews to know that the suckling pig is good, but I'm not a fan of pork. Any other recs for appetizers, entrees and dessert?

The short ribs are indeed a great choice for a first-timer. Suzanne Goin also does amazing things with chicken, veal and fish. On the current menu, the brandade and the soup are terrific appetizers. I have not had the latest fish, but her fish is always exemplary. The veal chop is incredible. And though I have not had the latest incarnation, the last time she had rabbit on the menu, it was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. Let us know what you think.

I second the fish recommendation -- never been disappointed.

I also had the brandade the last time I went and I thought it was amazing.

The boudin blanc is also super-delicious.
