Vegetarian recomendations
I will be visiting San Francisco next week. Would like to hit a couple of restaurants that offer some veggie options. I've been to L'osteria, Delfinas, and Incanto. Would welcome any suggestions.

I like Medicine. And they are having a special fungi week coming that looks good.

I really don't think Greens is worth going to. I had dinner there in May and cannot recommend it despite how much I love the Greens cookbook. I don't recommend Herbivore either. Their food always tastes like it was pre-made.
Mekong is amazing. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy but the food and service is totally worth it. It's also very inexpensive.
I know a lot of people don't like it by I love Cafe Gratitude if only for their grain bowls and terrific desserts. It's a place that feels unique to San Francisco.

re: Lori SF
I am not a big fan of herbivore - it seems to me like they're trying for too m uch breadth with not much depth. their menu is large but the items i've had were very unexciting.
i'd secon Cha-ya, Gratitude, and Greens. I'd also recommend one of my personal favorites, Mekong - a little Thai place in the Tenderloin which has vegan options for 90% of the menu (read: lots of fake meat, if that's your bag). Their yellow pumpkin curry is to die for, and the owner and waiter are extremely hospitable.

re: happenstance
Great view at Greens, unless it's foggy, but in the past year or so there have been many harsh reports on the food.
