Romantic LUNCH ideas for Miami??
My husband and I always go out to a very nice dinner for our birthdays (they are both right before Christmas and we'd rather treat ourselves to that than spend money on even more gifts.) But we've not really found a great babysitter for our baby in the evenings yet . . . so we were thinking of going out for a long, romantic lunch while he's in daycare. But I have no idea where to go. Any ideas? We both love seafood -- but would be open to just about anything.

Smith and Wollensky out on South Pointe Park (end of South Beach). It's a NY Steakhouse, but they have several excellent seafood dishes. Be sure to get the Truffled Mac and Cheese to go with your Surf and Turf.
It's right on Governement Cut where all the cruise ships pass by. Across the way is the very well to do Fisher Island (only accessible by ferry, boat or helicopter).
I would say this is your best bet...unless you're the picnicing types, in which case, go to Joe's (Stonecrabs) Takeaway and take your lunch to same park as above(a block away) and sit outside soaking up the seabreeze and scenery. S&W also has outdoor seating BTW.
Niiiiiiice!
The only other thing that comes to mind, and it too is in the same hood (South Pointe), would be Nikki's Beach Club where the two of you could dine on a beachside outdoor bed...ay yi yi!

If it's romantic and daytime I'd shoot for somewhere with a view of the ocean or bay. I can't recommend the food at these places since it's been a while since I've been to most of them. Azul, Cafe Sambal (both at the Mandarin), Aqua at the Four Seasons (sit on the patio), Baleen (haven't been in a while), Blue Door at the Delano (no ocean view, but plenty of outdoor seating). Red Fish has a nice view but I've had bad experiences each time I've gone there. That's all I got.
