Suggestions for area near 48th & Lex? Need something quiet for Wednesday.

We are meeting with architects to discuss remodeling a house, outside the City. They sre coming in for another meeting and we will meet around 8:15 Wed. night. Theywill be near 48th & Lex., before we meet, so we would like to be in that area. Any suggestions?

Riingo at 45th between 3rd and 2nd. Just went there for the first time. Good sushi (not "out of this world best sushi ever!"), good service, and small room with a quiet atmosphere.

Aburiya Kinnosuke on 45th bet 2 & 3 has some semi-private areas. Lever House is at Park bet 53d and 54th, if you fancy making the architectural point.

L'Impero is on Tudor City Pl, b/t 42nd & 43rd Sts., and sister restaurant Alto is on 53rd, b/t 5th & Madison. Both have delicious food and quiet ambiance.

I really like the food at Pampano, but it is not what I'd call quiet, unless you sit in the little downstairs section next to the bar. Avra's not particularly quiet either, although it's probably better than Pampano.

Al Bustan (3rd at 51st) is an option, as are the many fine sushi places in that neighborhood. Sushi tends to be pretty quiet!

              Pampano is a good choice.
Pescatore was barely edible the one time I tried it.

I agree about Pescatore. I had the misfortune of eating there last month and it was bad.
