Birthday Dinner in a Brewery within 40 miles of White Plains??

Ok, I have posted questions the last few weeks and all of the replies I received have been amazing. Seriously, this is a really wonderful board.

Here is my issue: I am taking my boyfriend out for his birthday dinner. He is a casual guy who enjoys Italian food, steak, I guess, really "traditional" food, if that is even a way to describe it. A friend of mine suggested a brewery/restaurant where you can sit, sample beer, and get a really nice meal in a quaint/somewhat romantic setting. The problem is, she is from California and doesn't know of anything like that in New York. Does anyone know of a similar type of place anywhere is Westchester or Fairfield CT, or within a 40 mile drive of White Plains?

If not, a brewery type of place, then I am open to suggestions, based on what I mentioned above. I am definitely looking for a fun place, nothing too fancy and definitely not pretentious. But not obnoxiously loud either. Also, I want to spend about $50-60 per person. I am not sure what other information I could provide in terms of preferences. I guess I am open to suggestions. I realize this is quite a lot to ask, being so open-ended, but I would really appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you.

I don't know if formal/intimate and brewery go hand in hand, but here are a few ideas:

Stamford Brewing Company on Summer Street in Stamford. Also casual, pub fare.

Ginger Man in Greenwich. Not a brewery, but dozens upon dozens of foreign beers on tap or in bottles. Good food. A little more "intimate" than SBC.

Brew House, Marshall Street in Sono (So. Norwalk, CT).

I checked out their website, it looks sort of like what I had in mind, but they describe themselves as casual, and even though the BF is a casual guy, I wanted to take him somewhere a little more formal than that, or at the very least, a little more intimate, for his birthday (although, I will definitely check it out soon). Thank you for the suggestion, it's definitely his kind of place!
