buying a turkey in west LA

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be cooking TG dinner at my in-law's house in westwood and wanted to know where i should order the turkey from. (uncooked) I'm not interested in heritage, but definitely would prefer organic, cage free, etc. Thanks for your help!

I ordered my first Heritage turkey this year from their website. Order from their website (although they may be sold out on several sizes). They deliver via Federal Express on Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I have also had good results with a kosher turkey, ordered directly from a local kosher butcher.

You can order organic and free range turkeys at Whole Foods. I placed an order at the Santa Monica store and imagine you can do so at the Westwood store.

Gelson's in Century City or West Hollywood can offer you a selection of fine birds. They have a good Organic variety

Farmers Market Poultry at Farmers Market Third and Fairfax. We order organic free range every year, always great.

just curious- where did you end up going? I'm in the throes of a last-minute turkey search and I would love to find something good!
