Barnhill's Steak and Buffet Nacogdoches

First, was only here for Sunday lunch (buffet only) so not known is the quality or serving of their steak.

This is not the ne plus ultra of dining, or even buffets, but if you are passing through it offers plenty of good food and (at least on the Sunday after-church crowd) excellent people watching.

The food was standard but if not excellent, then certainly not terrible. Fried chicken, catfish, fried shrimp, broiled chicken, fish, ribs, ham and pineapple, with all the trimmings. The best trimming was the stuffing which was quite nice. Salad bar, and dessert (have fun watching the children serving themselves from the ice-cream machine: surely a kid's dream come true! as you never have to stop dispensing!)

A mixture of ranchers, students, retirees and all others made a lively mixture. The tab was only $21 plus tip. Very reasonable.

Dessert of coconut (ice) cream pie was good.

A friendly and efficient waiter kept our drinks filled.
