Pelicans on The Pier in Sunny Isles Beach

I've lived on Bay Harbor Islands for six years and never even knew that Sunny Isles had a pier! Anyone have any opinion of this outdoor, on-the-pier, hangout? I am always searching for an on-the-water, laid back spot that is out of the trendy zone.

How is the food? What's it like on the weekends? Is it just a place to drink some draft beer on the ocean?

Any recommendations/opinions would be welcomed.
