Christmas gift (sweets, food, etc.) under $40

msms202 Nov 12, 2006 03:39 AM

I just moved to L.A. from Japan, and this is going to be my first Christmas here. I want to send some Christmas gift (basket?) to my relatives in Japan, but I don't know what would be good. I want to impress them (though my budget is low.) Can anyone give me a suggestion? Can Soup from a famous store, popular chocolate, or anything is fine. I would appreciate any input.

Thank you.

I can't know what sort of thing impresses your family, but Burdick's is my "go to" place for beautifully presented, high quality, regional yumminess. The chocolate mice might go over well; they are particularly popular with my Japanese friends for their merger of the delicious with cuteness.
