I love Allen & Sons BBQ but ...

  • 2

the best dad-gum BBQ in the Triangle is made by the folks at the Eno Volunteer Fire Dept. Unfortunately, it's their annual fundraiser, so it's only available one Sat. a year. :-( So if you didn't get yours today, better luck next year.

It's $6/Lb (2 doz. hush puppies will set you back another buck), or for the same 6 bux you can buy a dinner which gets you a lb of bbq, 8-9 hush puppies, about 1 cup of slaw, and boiled potatoes, and a slice of red velvet cake.

  1. Well, the Moravian church on Ridge Road does a killer BBQ too. I can't remember what time of year they do it, but it is done on site. The hush puppies are wonderful too. We go every year and beg them to sell it by the pound also, but they never have enough!

It is nice to know which of these fundraisers are worth going to (not that they aren't all deserving) and which ones are just backing up a truck. What I want is a REALLY GOOD fish fry.

    Anyone else have any finds?

Yeah, the Moravian Church BBQ is pretty good, too; but I like the Eno VFD's better.

Eno VFD does theirs on site as well. When the wind is right, the aroma of dem piggies on the pit 'bout drives me crazy! :-)

Wish I could help with the fish fry, but I'm still lookin' for one, too. :-(
