Pearl Sugar in Toronto

Trying to find this type of sugar with no luck so far. Have checked Whole Foods, Pusateri's and St. Lawrence Market.

  1. try viking smokeshop and bakery 133 laird. lots of finnish and swedish things there. pretty sure they've got it.

    1. For anyone interested, Viking Smokeshop and Bakery does carry pearl sugar. I just got a box today.

Thanks! Found it at Dinah's Cupboard but would rather go to Viking's to pick up a pile of bacon and smoked trout too...

Tuqueboy, how long can you keep it? Do you have to use one of those ceramic sugar disjs to prevent them from forming a block?

I've had mine since Christmas, just stored in the package it came in, and it's not clumping at all so far.

        2. where is viking smokeshop and bakery? by any chance.

Currently nonexistent. They were on Laird, but had a bad fire a while ago, and haven't announced plans to reopen as far as I know. If you're looking for pearl sugar, the last time I bought it I found it at Dinah's Cupboard.

You can find small boxes of pearl sugar at Viking, a distributor outlet open to the public, at 31 Railside Drive. Despite the similar name, I have been told they are not connected to the Milbree-Viking deli which is closed due to fire.

I bought a package last week at Dinah's Cupboard on Cumberland St. A must for making liege waffles.

Oh great! Good to know. I just used up my last box from the now-closed Viking on Laird.
