OK! I was hoping to find them at one of the stores in LA, but maybe not?

I order it online or get it from the store when in NY. The store has an amazing selection of chocolates as well. Here's the west coast sales rep, if anyone would know if a store caries it it's him:

Maison Midi at American Rag on La Brea used to have it. I'd call ahead to see if there's any in stock - (323) 935-3157

I've seen it at Anthropologie stores. Neiman Marcus carried it one year, as well. Williams Sonoma, too (but check the flagship stores, like the one in Beverly Hills).

Neiman has carried it for years, and had it last Sunday, when I last visited.

Thanks, Everybody! Their hot chocolate really is the best. Believe me, I have tried them all!!

I tried it at the Fancy Food Show and have been dreaming of it ever since. Really, really fine.

OMG it is the most fabulous chocolate, ever! I first bought some (at a clerk's suggestion) at Joan's on 3rd near La Cienega. The next year I bought it at Crate and Barrel near Christmas time, but don't try there as they no longer carry it. Last week I saw it at the Coral Tree Cafe in Encino. They have a location in Brentwood (on San Vincente) so give them a try.
BTW this is one of Oprah's favorite things and I found out after the fact that she recomended it on her show one year as a holiday item.

I saw it at the William Sonoma at the Santa Monica Place Mall today.

Saw them featured on Your LA the other day; any good in general?
Thanks

I saw it at great store along Montana Avenue in Santa Monica called Hey Kookla.

I think I saw it at Coral Tree Cafe in Brentwood tonight. Is it hot chocolate mix or in a bar form? The one at Coral Tree is a chocolate bar. It looked intriguing and then I turned it over and checked out the nutrition facts and it had a whopping 600 calories and 45 grams of fat per serving. I'm sorry I looked! It must taste amazing!

A boutique in the Silver Lake neighborhood called "Bittersweet Butterflies" had it, but give 'em a call just to make sure (it's a really teensy place, so am not surprised if that got rotated out)

Bittersweet Butterfly on Micheltorea (about a storefront or two north of Sunset) certainly does continue to carry it. They have two or three varietites, if I remember correctly.

I just saw it at the amazing new FRITELLI donuts on Canon Drive (cross st Brighton Way). They do have Marie Belle there, but if you have a sweet tooth, you MUST try a doughnut and the almond-madagascar vanilla Latte I had was out of this world. A great spot!

I saw it at Mel & Rose's Wine & Spirits on Melrose near La Cienega.

If you guys ever go to NYC, you have to check out their flagship store in SoHo. An inviting little place with a salon, where you can sip their chocolate.
It also have a full array of beautifully wrapped gift items.

You can also get it from Harney & Sons, and order it with tea. http://www.harney.com/

Also available at Big Sugar Bake Shop in Studio City.

one of the owners is a friend of the family...she is a fantastic baker...haven't been there yet, but I'm sure everything is dreamy.

Nooks and Niches carries some of them.
Their shipping is just $5.95. I've been looking around for the online stores, most of them charge ~$10 for S&H.

Small but nice boutique that opened a couple monthes ago on Abbot Kinney has it - can't remember the name but address is 1204 Abbot Kinney - right next to Jin Patisserie. The prices are the same as on MarieBelles' website.

Thanks. I hope they have their SPICY nersion.... the BEST! I could not find the Spicy one at Joan's on Third. Also, Joan's only had the smaller tins.
Cheers!

Again, I'd suggest trying Bittersweet/Butterfly and Neiman Marcus. Both carry the "Aztec" version, as well as the other ones.

Thanks, Pseudo. Actually, AZTEC and SPICY are two different flavors. I'll look into Butterfly...

Oh man - don't know - I think they might only have the Aztec and the Aztec Iced... picked those two up for a Christmas party... sorry I can't recall the name of the shop...

As of Christmas 2009 the Silver Lake cheese shop still carries the stuff and in two sizes. The smaller has a 7 dollar mark-up.

As does Curious Palate in Mar Vista and the new Fleur de Lis bakery in Monterrey Park on Atlantic has an amazing selection including the cutest little sampler tins...

Wow, apparently Mariebelle has a much greater So. Cal following than just me! A while ago, when snail mail was still de-riguer, I subscribed to the "Rosenberg Report", a foodie newsletter. One issue rated (in Rosenberg's erudite opinion) the best hot chocolates & drinking chocolates. I decided to mail-order his top 3 & have been a customer of all three companies for gifts & myself ever since. He felt the best were Mariebelle Aztec (which is also carried by a small foodie emporium/gif shop in Westlake Village, closer to the Valley & I see it always at my favorite Francophile Cafe, Maison Midi. Oh, I also saw it at a gift shop/cafe commercial strip in Studio City/Valley Village. Also, rated at the top were L.A. Burdick's Dark Hot Chocolate. They are based in New Hampshire & have a few exquisite cafe's in New England, & sublime mail order chocolates, Linzer Tortes, Nuss Tortes & other pastries. Finally, Vosges Haute Chocolate, which operates out of New York. Vosges drinking chocolate is on par with Maribelle, in my opinion, but just different. The two latter companies are more mail-order friendly & have chocolate/dessert of the month type programs. -JET
