Susur - just how much am I going to blow?

Some clients have requested that we go to Susur next time I am in Toronto. Everyone talks about the cost. Just how much will this cost me for 3 people at dinner? Is it more than Bymark or Canoe?

    3 people...tasting menu and some decent wine...$1000.00

It's worth the experience. I'm sure your 'clients' will appreciate it:)

A very controversial question! Susur is a celebrity chef and prices accordingly. I have been once, also paid about $200pp and while I am glad I went once to see what the fuss is about, I left a little hungry (5 course menu of very small dishes), and felt like we had been condescended to by the wait staff. They seated us at a table next to another couple in an empty restaurant, and rushed us through the meal to ensure we would be gone by the next seating. For $200pp I expect to be treated much better than we were.

This was about 2 years ago so perhaps things have improved. Or your experience might differ if you seem like the types that might return.

So was it worth it? Glad I did it, but I would not return (unless someone else was paying).

Thanks. In that case I have a follow up, is it really worth it?

I agree with the other posters, at least $200 but probably more towards the $250 per person.

At least $200 pp but I've spent closer to $300 on occasion.

I was there a few weeks ago. We had the 5 course menu w/ wine pairing + post meal tea/coffee. It worked to being $230 per person w/ tip.
